Description
The gateway at the principal driveway entrance to Clovelly Court is an 18th-century structure that was rebuilt in 1890 by Christine Hamlyn, who reused 18th-century materials and imported the gates from Nuremberg. The gateway is constructed of brick and freestone. It features tall principal piers that are square in plan, adorned with cornices and domed caps topped with ball finials. There are smaller secondary outer piers in a similar style, connected by short sections of wall that include small secondary pedestrian gates. The central area showcases large paired iron gates with cresting that displays a central monogram, along with smaller pedestrian gates that match the design.
