Description

This is a water wheel and wheel house located approximately 35 metres south of West Chapple Farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 19th century. The wheel house features rubble walls topped with a single pitch corrugated asbestos roof. Inside the wheel house, there is a large iron overshot water wheel situated in a pit. An iron drive shaft extends from the wheel up the hill to the farm buildings, which are about 100 metres away.
