Description

This is an early 19th-century house with a shop. It is shown on Ordnance Survey maps as number 71. The front of the building is solid and rendered, with the roof not visible from the street. A rendered chimney is located on the right-hand side wall. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window front. A late 19th or early 20th-century projecting shop front has a moulded top cornice and a recessed shop door with a shaped bottom panel, featuring three-quarters glazed glass. The upper storeys are flanked by panelled Ionic pilasters with enriched capitals, which support an entablature with a panelled frieze decorated with rosettes. The windows have barred sashes: the second storey has 6 over 9 panes, while the third storey has 6 over 6 panes. A simple pedestal course sits between the storeys. A tall top parapet features a panelled pedestal at each end. The interior has not been inspected.
