Description
This former cottage, located immediately south of The Old Forge, is believed to have once served as a cobbler's shop. It dates from the early 19th century and features plastered cob and rubble walls, with a gable-ended slate roof and a brick chimney stack at the left gable end. The cottage has a very narrow one-room plan with a fireplace at the left-hand end. It stands two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with two windows on the upper floor, which are 19th-century two-light casements, and a three-light casement on the ground floor. To the right is a 20th-century part-glazed door. The interior does not show any original features. This cottage is a rare example of a very small one-room dwelling that has survived virtually unaltered.
