Description
Lower Lookout is a cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features whitewashed stone rubble walls and a gable-ended roof covered with asbestos slate. A rubble stack with a drip course is located at the right gable end. The cottage likely has a two-room plan, with a smaller unheated room on the left and the entrance in the right gable end next to the stack.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front. This includes 19th-century small-paned casements with one and two lights, fitted with H-L hinges. There is also a 19th-century panelled and glazed door situated in the right gable end wall, which is set at an obtuse angle to the front. A small 20th-century lean-to has been added in front of the left-hand end. The interior has not been inspected.
