Description
April Cottage is a house that likely has origins dating back to the 17th century, but it was extensively modernized in the 20th century, including the addition of a rear left wing. The building is constructed from whitewashed rendered cob and stone rubble, topped with a thatched roof that is half-hipped at both ends, and features an axial stack. The house is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with four windows. To the right of the center, there is a thatched porch supported by posts. The windows are modern 20th-century timber casements, with one and two lights and glazing bars. The interior has been modernized, and it is known that there was once a decorated plaster ceiling, which was removed about 20 years ago. April Cottage is included for its group value with Higher Farm and Chasers.
