Description

The service range immediately to the west of Harcombe House was built in 1912 by L.A. Lucas of Exeter for Edward Wills, Bart. It is constructed from local grey limestone rubble with Ham Hill dressings at the south end and moulded brick dressings on the east side, which faces the service wing of the house. The building features a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, with an axial stack and a rear lateral stack that has a tall shaft. This single-storey, single-depth range may have been used as a boiler house or laundry.

The south end of the range is flush with the south elevation of Harcombe House and has a coped gable, along with a two-light stone mullioned window situated below a one-light window. To the left, the range connects to Harcombe House through a gateway leading to the service yard. The east elevation facing the yard includes five doorways (one of which is blocked) and two windows, all featuring Ham Hill lintels and moulded brick jambs. The west elevation has four windows. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of the south elevation of Harcombe House.
