Description

This lime kiln, dating from the mid to late 19th century, is located on the central reservation of a dual carriageway at SX 81808820 in Chudleigh. It is constructed from local grey limestone rubble and is notable for its size, featuring three swallows that are currently used as a dwelling for a tramp. The kiln is unusually large and well-preserved, although the interior has not been inspected.
