Description
No. 70 Ringmore Road is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of Ringmore Road in Shaldon. It is part of a terrace of three houses and features a double-depth plan. The exterior is finished with 20th-century painted render and has a slate roof with rendered stacks on the right party wall and left gable end.
The house is two storeys high and has a two-window range. On the first floor, there are 6/6-pane sash windows. To the right, there is a doorcase with pilasters that support an entablature, along with panelled reveals and soffit above a six-panel door with raised moulding on the panels. To the left, there is an impressive former shop front, which includes a single-storey curved bay topped with a moulded cornice, frieze, and dentil band. This bay features narrow panelled pilasters that frame 12-pane fixed windows with reeded sills on the outer sides and 8 panes in the centre, above a wooden apron that likely served as a former door. The interior has not been inspected.
