Description

This is an 18th-century barn located approximately 20 metres south of Ambrook Farmhouse. The barn is constructed of limestone rubble walls with a cob topping, and has a hipped corrugated iron roof. It follows a rectangular plan with a central threshing floor and is single-story, although it formerly contained a loft. A wide cart entrance is positioned to the right of the centre, with a wooden lintel. A smaller opening is located opposite it on the rear wall. At the left-hand end are two openings, one of which on the first floor was formerly a loading hatch for the loft. The interior contains some 19th-century pegged roof trusses.
