Description

This is an 18th-century barn located approximately 10 metres east of Great Hampstone Farmhouse. It is constructed of stone rubble with cob in the upper part and features a hipped roof made of corrugated asbestos. The barn has a rectangular shape and a symmetrical frontage with two large cart entrances, each covered by corrugated asbestos canopies and fitted with old two-leaf plank doors. There are opposing cart entrances at the rear, with the left side infilled. A tall ventilation slit is present at the left end of the barn. Inside, there are nine rough trusses with lapped side pegged collars.
