Description

Beech Cottage is a house that was originally a rear wing to Beech Park, located at No. 67 Exeter Road. It dates from the early 19th century and features painted stucco with a crested slate roof and internal lateral stacks above the south front windows. The building is designed in a picturesque Gothic style and has a double-depth plan.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a five-window range. The four windows on the left side have a central eaves stack and a slightly higher roof than the right side, which connects to Beech Park. The left block features pointed-arched margin-paned windows with interlacing tracery above 2-light, 2-paned casements, with exposed timber lintels above. There are two similar windows on the ground floor to the left, accompanied by a 20th-century gabled porch to the right. The first-floor window above the porch is taller, narrower, and fixed. The block to the right of the porch has flat-arched three-light windows and a central eaves stack. The interior has not been inspected.
