Description

Cherry Tree Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on Regent Gardens in Teignmouth. It is constructed of painted stucco with a hipped slate roof and a brick stack on the right side. The house has a double-depth plan and is three storeys high, originally featuring a single-window range. The front facade includes full-height French windows on all floors, with four panes per leaf, though the 1st and 2nd-floor windows are replacements from the 20th century. A 1st-floor balcony is supported by four slender cast-iron columns with wrought-iron scrolls and circles at the tops, set within a shallow semi-elliptical arch spanning the front, and capped with a 20th-century glazed roof. A 20th-century six-panel door is located on the left side. The interior of the cottage was not inspected. This building has group value in relation to other properties in the area.
