Description
St Mary's Hall is a church hall that is attached to the right of St Mary's Church in Newton Abbot. It was built in 1826 and remodeled in 1992. The exterior features late 20th-century rough render and consists of a single-storey, three-bay range that has been converted into a three-storey building. The large gable has a crenellated parapet and an obelisk finial on a diagonal buttress at the right-hand corner. There are three full-height lancet windows, which are deeper and taller in the center, now fitted with 20th-century windows across three floors. To the left, there is a doorway with two windows above a pointed arch, which has sunk spandrels beneath a cornice. The right side of the building has three gabled dormers above similar lancets and a blocked doorway of the same style. The early 19th-century facade is a notable feature in the street, located next to the Church of St Mary. The interior has not been inspected.
