Description
The Swan Inn is an inn with an early 19th-century facade, likely built onto an 18th-century structure. It features painted render and freestone dressings, topped with a slate roof that has two ridge stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a symmetrical five-window arrangement. Architectural details include a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course that curves around the left-hand corner, along with an eaves band.
On the first floor, there is a sill band and plinth, with 4/4-pane sash windows. The central bay is slightly stepped forward and has a semicircular-arched window beneath an open pediment. The ground floor windows are early 20th-century plate glass with two-pane overlights, arranged with two windows on the left and one on the right. The central entrance features a semi-elliptical arch, while a four-panel door to the far right has a semicircular arch and radial glazing bars in the fanlight. The roof includes four small gabled dormers.
The interior of the ground floor has been altered but appears to have a boxed-in axial beam; the upper floors have not been seen.
