Description

These are a pair of cottages, possibly originating as a single house, dating to around the 17th century. The construction is of roughcast stone rubble and cob, with a thatched roof featuring half-hipped and hipped ends, and eyebrow eaves. The cottages are two storeys high and have a long range of four or five windows. The windows are mostly 19th and 20th-century two-light casements with glazing bars. There are two 19th and 20th-century doors. A roughcast stone chimney stack projects from the front wall, to the left of centre. Number 48 has two rendered chimney stacks on the rear wall, now within an outshut with a catslide thatched roof. Number 47 has a 20th-century rear wing.
