Description
This cottage, formerly used as a Post Office, dates from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone rubble and has a scantle slate roof, featuring a half-hipped end facing the road and a gabled end on the opposite side. The building is two storeys high and has two windows. The windows are 19th-century casements. Attached to the right side of the south front is a single-storey gabled cart-shed from the 19th century, which has double doors facing the road. There is a large rendered chimney stack at the west gable end. The entrance on the end facing the road features a glazed door, with a ground floor sash window and a casement window above it. At the rear (north) wall, there is a rendered stone rubble chimney stack, now incorporated into a lean-to that has a slurried slate catslide roof. This building is included for its group value.
