Description
Myrtle Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with a 20th-century addition. It has rendered rubble walls and a hipped thatch roof, along with a rendered brick stack at the right-hand end. The original layout features a two-room plan, with the main heated room on the right side. A 20th-century extension has been added to the left. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front on the original part, featuring early 20th-century two-light casements. The left-hand extension includes a large ground floor picture window. A 20th-century plank door is located at the centre of the original part, sheltered by a small trellis porch. At the rear, there is a 19th-century lean-to. The interior was inaccessible during the survey but may include features such as ceiling beams and an open fireplace.
