Description
Dunedin Cottage is a house dating from around 1835, constructed of stone rubble that is plastered and blocked out. It features a slate roof with gabled ends and deep eaves, and has a rendered shaft on the left-hand gable end stack. The left gable end is covered with asbestos tiles. The layout likely consists of one main room at the front, an entrance passage, and a staircase to the right, with an outshut at the back. It is said to have originally been one house with Dunedin House.
The exterior has three storeys and an asymmetrical two-window east front. The windows are all 12-pane sashes from the 19th century, with the ground and first floor windows being the original early 19th century sashes, while the second floor sashes are later 19th century replacements. There is a doorway to the right featuring a segmental arch and a divided plank door, likely from the 20th century. An open porch from the 1920s has a wooden lattice gable and a slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
