Description
No. 12 Church Street is a house in a row, featuring a mid-19th century front but likely incorporating fabric from the 18th century. The exterior is smooth rendered with a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has two windows, all of which are 4-pane sashes. On the right side, there is a two-storey canted bay with a slightly oversailing upper level leading to a flat roof. The central entrance consists of a 19th century six-panel flush part-glazed door, framed by a pilaster surround with an entablature that curves at the pilasters. A tall ridge stack is positioned off-centre to the right. The building has a plinth, and the back is divided into two parts, featuring 4-pane sashes and a small arched light with margin bars, all set within a slate-hung wall. The lower right section has a large square brick stack set low near the eaves. It is possible that this building was once two separate properties.
