Description

Snowdon's is a house that was originally two cottages, dating from the early to mid 17th century. The building features rendered rubble walls that may include some cob, and it has a thatched roof that is hipped to the left and gabled at the right end. There is a projecting rendered rubble lateral stack with a brick shaft at the front. The original layout was a three-room-and-through-passage plan, with the lower end to the left. The hall is heated by a fireplace on the front wall, while the inner room likely had a fireplace on the end wall, with stairs located behind it. A wing at the back of the inner room probably dates from the 18th century.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with four windows, featuring 20th-century two-light casements, some of which have small panes. On the first floor, there is a window in a 20th-century rectangular bay to the right, and a 19th-century sliding 12-pane sash window to the left. A 19th-century four-panel door is located to the left of centre, sheltered by a slate hood. The right end of the house has a projecting stack that is cut off at the eaves, with a very small stairlight behind it. The wing extends to the rear.

The interior was inaccessible during the survey, but it may contain original features such as an open fireplace, ceiling beams, and a newel stair.
