Description

Steps and archway located immediately east of Old Traine, dating from the 16th century but possibly repositioned later. Constructed from granite and rubble, the structure features a flight of stairs that rises from the lowest front level to the first floor level, situated directly opposite the east gable of Old Traine. Above the opening, there is a large granite lintel in a basket-handle shape, which includes a central ogee curve. This granite lintel may have originated from the demolished 16th century Champernowne House.
