Description
Coldstone Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and features a slate hipped roof. The building has two storeys and a two-window range, with three and four-light chamfered stone mullion windows that include hoodmoulds. The first floor is adorned with gables above the windows. To the left, there is a gabled porch with a wooden cambered head doorway, and the inner doorway has a chamfered four-centred arch. A large central chimney made of granite ashlar has a moulded cap. At the rear, there are two gabled wings that form a square plan, which include some stone mullion windows and a chimneystack on one of the gables. There is also a lean-to extension on the east end. Inside, the farmhouse features two moulded granite fireplaces on the ground floor and one on the first floor, including a large granite fireplace on the ground floor with chamfered jambs and lintel, as well as a chamfered four-centred arch doorway on the ground floor.
