Description

Bickleigh Bridge is a road bridge over the River Plym, dating from the 18th century or possibly earlier in part. It is constructed of stone rubble and features one wide span with a semi-circular arch. The parapets have chamfered granite coping, which has been replaced in some areas. The current structure appears to be the same one that was observed by James Green, the Surveyor of Bridges for Devon, in 1809. This information is referenced in "Old Devon Bridges" by Anderson and Jervoise.
