Description
Hatshill House is a house that was originally an inn, dated 1839. It is possibly designed by Charles Fowler and is built in the Tudor style. The structure features rendered stone with granite dressings and has a steeply pitched asbestos slate roof with gabled ends; the north end includes stone coping and a finial. The house is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan, with a slightly advanced splayed corner feature that has a parapet flanked by external chimneystacks. The central entrance is a two-storeyed gabled porch that includes a granite four-centred arch doorway with a label, a three-light stone mullion window, and a large round tablet above in the gable that bears the inscription "Maristow Inn 1839." Additional features include a large granite gable finial and stone coping, along with granite mullion windows that also have labels.
