Description
Lower Collard is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed from rendered stone rubble, featuring a scantle slate roof with gabled ends. The building has one storey and an attic, with a four-window range that includes 19th and 20th-century casements on the ground floor, set within the remains of stone frames. There are four later straight-headed dormers, and the left-hand side has a round-headed doorway adorned with continuous roll moulding. Large rendered stone chimneystacks are located at the right gable end and to the left of center, while pigeon holes can be found in the left-hand (west) gable end. An outshut is present at the rear. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to contain exposed ceiling beams and a blocked open fireplace, according to a survey from 1956.
