Description
Brixton Barton is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed of roughcast and stone rubble, topped with an asbestos slate roof featuring gabled ends. The building has two storeys and a four-window range, with 20th-century metal frame casements. A glazed door on the left leads to a cross passage, which is sheltered by a 20th-century slate roof lean-to porch. There are large rendered chimneystacks, one off centre and another at the gable end, along with a staircase projection at the rear. The rear wing creates an L-shaped plan and includes a loft door. Inside, the farmhouse features stopped chamfer ceiling beams and a newel staircase located at the rear.
