Description

This villa, one of a row of three, was built around 1850. It is constructed with stucco over stone rubble, featuring stuccoed and brick-panelled chimney shafts and a hipped slate roof. The building follows an L-shaped plan, with a two-room front block containing an entrance to the rear, leading to a staircase and passage behind the front rooms. A two-room service wing is set at a right angle to the rear right.

The symmetrical two-window front has a ground-floor verandah. The ground floor features French windows with glazing bars concealed behind a five-bay verandah, which has paired posts filled with trelliswork and a part-glazed, part-slated roof. The first floor has sash windows without glazing bars within a segmental-arch head, set within stucco architraves. The stucco is lightly blocked out to resemble ashlar, with vermiculated rustication acting as quoins at each end. A twentieth-century door sits within a side doorway, topped by a plain overlight. The interior details are not known but are likely to be of interest.
