Description
This is a farm outbuilding located approximately 50 meters south of Yarnicombe Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with some slate hanging and features a slate roof. The building is two stories tall with a hipped roof and has a series of openings, some of which are blocked, adorned with voussoirs and keystones.
On the ground floor, the left end is partially blocked by a lean-to, which is not of special interest. There is a wide central opening with voussoirs that contains a pair of plank doors. To the right, there is a sash window in a part-blocked opening and another door. The first floor originally had seven openings, all of which are now blocked except for openings two and six, which are partially blocked by wooden shutters. A plain string course runs along the building. The interior has not been inspected. This building may have served as domestic premises or been constructed as a farm building at the same time as the farmhouse, reflecting similar architectural detailing.
