Description

Higher Luson is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from around the 17th century, with an additional wing from the 18th century, creating an L-shaped plan. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with some areas rendered, and features a slate roof that has a gable end to the east and a hipped section to the west. It stands two storeys tall.

The original house is the south block, which has a gable end facing east and two large stone rubble chimney stacks on the south side, one of which projects. The northwest wing, added in the 18th century, has a hipped roof and a four-window range on the west side, all of which are now 20th-century casements. There is also a wide 20th-century glazed door with a large 20th-century wooden porch. A plank door is located on the north side of the original wing. Additionally, there are small lean-tos on the east end of the south wing and the east side of the east wing.

Inside, there are two large straight-headed chamfered granite chimneypieces without stops on the south wall. This may be a surviving section of a larger house that once existed.
