Description
Deerbridge Mill House is a miller's house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of dressed slate rubble and has an asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. The gable end stacks are rendered, with the left stack featuring a tall shaft and both having louvred clay pots. The house has a double depth plan, consisting of two main front rooms with an entrance between them, while the back rooms are likely service areas. An integral watermill is located on the left side.
The exterior is two storeys high and features an almost symmetrical three-window west front with 12-pane sash windows. The first-floor centre left window has been replaced with a 16-pane sash, while the ground floor has two-light 12-pane sashes. The central doorway has a 19th-century fielded six-panel door with glazed top panels and a 20th-century wooden open porch. On the right-hand end, there are 20th-century casements.
The front garden area wall is made of 19th-century slate rubble, with rounded corners and a central gateway. The interior has not been inspected but may still contain original joinery, including doors, chimneypieces, and a staircase.
