Description
The garden wall, steps, and gate piers located immediately south of Langdon Court Hotel date from the early 18th century. They serve as boundary walls to formal terraced gardens and feature flights of steps along with gate piers. The walls are constructed of red brick in English bond with plain stone coping, while the southernmost walls are made of slate rubble. A flight of granite steps leads from the lower garden to the terrace, ending with brick piers topped by tall pyramidal granite finials. At the center of the lower garden is an oval pond surrounded by moulded granite curb stones. This structure is listed as Grade II* for its group value.
