Description
The Tithe Barn is an 18th-century barn that has been converted into a house. It is constructed of rough ashlar stone and features a chamfered plinth. The building has a steeply pitched slate roof with gabled ends, each topped with ball finials. There are two tiers of ventilation slits along the sides. A central gabled midstrey, also adorned with a ball finial, includes round pitching eyes with keystones that have moulded cornices. The gable apex has a rectangular window with similar keystones. Below, there is a cart entrance with a segmental arch that has a keystone and monolithic granite jambs. Above this entrance, a round-arched tablet displays the Calmady arms and a date from the 17th century, framed by a moulded architrave. A large segmentally arched loft doorway is located in the gable end. The rear of the barn has been significantly altered, featuring 20th-century windows and a balcony.
