Description
The flight of steps immediately south of St Bartholomew's Church is a mid-19th century structure, likely built around the same time as the church's rebuilding by William Butterfield. Made of ashlar, the steps are wide and consist of three stages, featuring solid stone balustrades on either side topped with saddle-back coping. The top flight of steps is slightly narrower than the others, and there are stone benches integrated into the balustrade on the top landing. This flight of steps is included for its group value with the church.
