Description

The milepost located immediately south of the Royal Dart Hotel is a rectangular granite structure from the early 19th century. It is situated on the slipway of the Lower Dart Ferry and is notable for displaying distances in miles, furlongs, and poles. The front of the post is inscribed with the following locations and dates: To M F P Newton 16.6.24, Teignmouth 18.4.14, Torquay 12.2.14, Brixham 4.4.8, Totnes 11.4.8, and Exeter 32.6.20.
