Description

The lychgate south of the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury is a churchyard structure built around 1847, likely designed by J Hayward of Exeter, and is contemporary with the church itself. It features two stone rubble side walls topped with coped gables that have moulded kneelers, and a slate roof. The roof trusses are supported by wooden posts with curved braces that are set against the inside of the side walls. There is a small lancet window in the west gable end.
