Description

The Devon County Council Welfare Centre is an earlier to mid-19th century villa. It is a double-fronted building with three storeys and four windows. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The front elevation is stuccoed, with a rusticated ground floor. A plain band runs along the first floor, topped by a cornice and blocking course with a panelled centrepiece. The windows are recessed sash windows, and the ground floor windows are architraved with cornices. The recessed doorway is framed by pilasters supporting an entablature and features a rectangular fanlight above a half-glazed door.
