Description
Duncliffe and Strathmore, located on Pomeroy Villas, are a pair of villas built in the earlier to mid-19th century, after 1834, in a late Georgian style. They are two storeys high. The windows are arranged differently: Strathmore has a 1:3 arrangement while Duncliffe has a 1:1 arrangement. Each villa features projecting wings with pediments, and Strathmore includes an attached conservatory. The roofs are made of Welsh slate and have moulded, rendered stacks. The fronts are finished in stucco with pilaster strips at the corners. Both villas have recessed sash windows, with Duncliffe also featuring shutters. Strathmore boasts a three-bay verandah with a balustraded balcony supported by Ionic columns. The entrance to Duncliffe is on the south side and includes sidelights, a rectangular fanlight, and a panelled door. Strathmore has an architraved doorway with a rectangular fanlight and a panelled door.
