Description
The buildings at 2, 4, and 5 Leechwell Lane comprise a former 18th-century linhay and outbuildings, originally associated with a nearby slaughterhouse. A former building, number 3, is now incorporated into number 4. Around 1880, the complex was converted into cottages. The buildings are two storeys high with dormers. Originally, each section had a single window. The roofs are covered with Welsh slate and feature old masonry stacks. The walls are constructed of random rubble Devonian limestone and are limewashed. A rubble eaves band is present, along with gabled dormers. The windows are recessed casements and Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars and timber lintels. Recessed doorways are also present; number 2 retains its original boarded door.
