Description

This is a range of parish buildings located approximately 10 meters southwest of the Church of Holy Trinity in Barnstaple, likely built in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of coursed and squared rubble, featuring a mix of purple and greenish stones with limestone dressings, and has slated roofs. There is a stone chimney on the rear wall at the right-hand end.

The building is one storey with garrets, although the right-hand end is two storeys. It is designed in a Tudor style and consists of a long, narrow range with eight windows. At the right-hand end, there are two taller, projecting gables with a door between them that has a chamfered surround and a four-centred arch. The left-hand gable features a large four-light stone mullioned window with a hoodmould, where the two middle lights are taller than the others. The right-hand gable has plain stone mullioned windows with three lights on the ground storey and two lights above. The remaining windows at the left-hand end have a plain chamfered surround without mullions, but there is a lean-to in front with a blocked three-light mullioned window. Additionally, there are three gabled wooden dormer windows with barge-boards. This building is included for its group value.
