Description

Rose Cottage is a range of three cottages, now combined into a single dwelling, dating to the late 17th and 18th centuries. The construction is of roughcast rendered stone rubble and cob, with a thatched roof, hipped at the left end. A brick shaft rises from a stone rubble and cob stack at the left end, incorporating a bread oven projection. There is also an axial stone rubble stack and a brick stack at the right end.

The building is two storeys high. The left-hand cottage projects forward and has a two-window front with two-light casement windows, each with six panes of glass on both floors. An entrance doorway is located at the rear, within the recess. The two cottages to the right each have a single two-light casement window with six panes per light. There are two porches; the left-hand porch, dating to the early 20th century, has a gabled slate roof and two-light casement windows with six panes of glass on each side, while the right-hand porch has six panes of glass. A lean-to porch extends to the right and incorporates a single two-light casement window with two panes of glass. The interior has not been inspected.
