Description
Sunnyview is a cottage, probably from the 18th century, that has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed from roughcast rendered stone rubble and cob, topped with a half-hipped thatch roof and features an axial brick stack. The layout includes a room on each side of an entrance passage that contains a staircase. The left-hand room has been divided to create a small rear scullery, while the right-hand room was formerly the kitchen. In the 20th century, an integral outbuilding at the right end, which was originally a pig house with a chamber above and separate front access, was incorporated into the dwelling, and the front doorway was blocked.
The exterior is two storeys high with a three-window range. Most windows are 20th-century two-light casements, except for the right end, which has a three-light casement with three panes per light. There is an early 20th-century porch with a gabled slate roof and a four-panelled inner door, where the upper two panels are glazed. The interior has been entirely altered in the mid-20th century, although the kitchen fireplace remains concealed behind a 20th-century grate.
