Description
Newport Terrace consists of a pair of houses, originally part of a roughly uniform terrace that includes Nos 9-12. These houses date from the early 19th century and feature solid rendered fronts with slated roofs and rendered chimneys on the end and party walls.
The buildings are two storeys high and have a three-window range with central doorways. No. 14 has a six-panelled door, with the top two panels now glazed, and a deep porch supported by panelled pilasters and an entablature. No. 15 has similar pilasters set against the wall, possibly remnants of a porch. There is a doorway at the left-hand end of No. 15, likely leading to the rear; the lower part of this door is boarded over, while the upper four panels are from the 19th century, with the top two now glazed. Both houses have windows with eight-paned sashes. Giant pilaster-strips flank and separate the houses, with the one to the right of No. 15 being panelled. The eaves feature stepped boards, similar to those at Nos 9-11. The interiors have not been inspected.
