Description

This is an 1818 bank barn located approximately 10 metres north-east of Porte Farmhouse. The barn is constructed of unrendered stone rubble, with a slate roof and gable ends. It is rectangular in plan and built into a bank, with rear access provided for carts via a double plank door. A winnowing door is situated at the front, accessed by two flights of stone steps; the steps on the right side are a later addition. Ventilation slits are present on each side. A semi-circular arched doorway is found at the left gable end, featuring rough stone voussoirs and a keystone. Above the doorway is a slate plaque bearing the inscription "Erected for IC & WT by R.N.S. Mason 1818."
