Description
Wistlandpound Farmhouse is a circa 1840 farmhouse, with a rear extension added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of painted rendered stone rubble, with gable end stacks and an axial stack, each topped with two clay pots. A further stack is located on the gable end of the rear right-hand service wing. The front range comprises four bays, with the three left-hand bays forming a symmetrical arrangement around an entrance hall, and a single bay added to the right. Two right-angled, gable-ended rear service wings create an overall U-shaped plan, with a two-storey addition in the late 19th century filling the space between them. The front elevation features a 3:1 window arrangement, with mostly 19th and 20th-century hornless sash windows. A hipped bay window is located at the right end. The roof is slate covered, and the porch incorporates a slate roof and a two-panelled door with a decorative fanlight. The left gable end was formerly slate-hung. The interior contains some mid-20th century alterations, but largely retains 19th-century joinery.
