Description
The Berrynarbor War Memorial is located in the churchyard of the Church of St Peter, which is also listed at Grade II*. Made of granite, the memorial features a wheel-head cross that rises from a tapering pedestal, which has a rectangular shape and stands on a two-stepped base. The memorial is set on a small square pavement that is enclosed by a low stone kerb.
On the front face of the pedestal, the main dedicatory inscription reads: "TO THE UNFADING MEMORY OF OUR FALLEN WHO DIED FOR US 1914 – 1918" followed by eight names and the reference "ST. JOHN XV.13." To the right side of the pedestal, there is a later dedication for the Second World War that states: "ALSO OF THE FALLEN 1939 – 1945" along with six names.
