Description
A pair of adjoining cottages, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, are constructed of painted rendered stone rubble. They have asbestos slate roofs with gable ends, a central rendered ridge stack with a tapered cap, and end stacks. The cottages follow a 2-room, central staircase plan. The two-storey facades are symmetrical and feature a 3-window range, with a blind central window on each side. The left-hand cottage has 20th-century 2-light casements, with 8 panes per light, on each floor, and a 19th-century 4-panelled door with a raised and fielded design, set within a semi-circular arched surround. The right-hand cottage has 19th-century 16-paned horizontal sliding sash windows, except for the ground floor right, which has a 2-light casement with 8 panes per light. A 20th-century door is present, but the original decorative fanlight remains. The interior was not inspected.
