Description
Court Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century, with a 19th-century roof replacement. It's constructed of rendered stone rubble and cob, with a hipped red clay tiled roof featuring decorative hip finials. The cottage has brick stacks, one to the left end and one to the right. Originally planned as a 1½-room dwelling, it is now a single room, with a staircase situated in the rear left-hand corner, and leantos at both ends.
The two-storey, two-window front features 19th-century 2-light casement windows with 3 panes per light above, and two 9-paned windows below, all with timber lintels. A central doorway is sheltered by a hipped red clay tiled roof and contains a plank door with cover strips. There’s a 2-light window to the right, and double plank doors with a 3-light window above to the left-hand leanto.
The principal room retains a flagstone floor and most of the original 19th-century joinery.
