Description
Rock Hill Cottage and Sunnyside are two adjoining cottages, likely built in the late 17th century. They are constructed of whitewashed rendered rubble and cob, topped with a thatched roof featuring axial rubble stacks with drips at each end. The right side is rendered. The cottages have an L-shaped plan, with a two-storey flat-roofed extension to Sunnyside located at the rear angle of the L-shape. Both cottages are two storeys high, and Sunnyside, which is on the right, projects forward with its floors set at a higher level. The front features a four-window range from the 19th or early 20th century, consisting of two-light timber casements with two panes each. On the ground floor, there are two two-light timber casements flanking two half-glazed plank doors; the door on the left has a slated hood, while the door on the right has a 20th-century porch. Although there is no access to the roof space, the original roof trusses appear to be intact.
