Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres southeast of Kerswell Farmhouse, is likely from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed from uncoursed stone rubble with dressed quoins and features a half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron, which was probably originally thatched. The barn is aligned roughly east-west and has central waggon entrances on opposite sides. The north-west and north-east corners are chamfered. The waggon entrances have wooden lintels and are flanked by short sections of wall, which were formerly shallow porches with eaves that extended above. Inside, the barn has a five-bay roof from the 18th century, supported by trusses made up of principal rafters and half-lapped and nailed collars. Kerswell Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
